How Do I Choose the Best Organic Shampoo for Hair Loss?

Hair loss can be caused by a number of reasons, including genetics, age, and illness. It affects both men and women, and subsequently, there are a number of different products, including shampoos, that claim to help reduce hair loss. One of the most recommended of these products is organic shampoo. The chemicals present in many shampoos are thought to potentially increase hair loss, while organic shampoos, although they do not regrow hair, can help to keep the remaining hair healthy and can be used alongside other hair loss treatments. There are certain ingredients that you should look for and avoid when choosing organic shampoo for hair loss.

Ingredients that you should look for when choosing an organic shampoo for hair loss include herbal extracts such as rosemary, chamomile, and lavender. These are thought to help hair loss by stimulating the hair follicles, strengthening hair to prevent breakage, and cleaning the scalp to keep it dandruff free. Fruit extracts, including pomegranate and jojoba, are also thought to be useful at improving hair growth and thickness, reducing blockage of the follicles, and protecting hair and the scalp by working as an antioxidant. Shampoos with aloe vera are also good choices due to the plant's anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, which can help to protect against diseases such as folliculitis, which can make hair loss worse.

You should also choose ingredients that increase the volume of your hair, making it appear thicker and fuller. Good organic shampoo for hair loss contains panthenol, also known as pro-vitamin B5, which moisturizes hair and helps repair damage. Wheat proteins also act as a moisturizer and work to protect hair. Soy proteins are also good ingredients, as they help to increase volume and encourage growth. Others that are good for hair loss include biotin, keratin, and vitamin B12.

Avoid products that list chemicals in their ingredients when you are buying organic shampoo to help with hair loss. Specific chemicals to avoid include sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), which is very common in shampoos and is thought to have damaging effects on people who suffer from hair loss. When buying organic shampoo for hair loss, make sure you read the label carefully.

Many products make claims that they are organic, but the regulation of these claims is not always stringent. Look for products that are 100% organic. These should not contain any fertilizers, pesticides, or hormones, nor should they have synthetic ingredients. Be wary of products that claim to be organic or "made with organic ingredients" as these products often still contain chemicals.

There are numerous products for hair growth but only Reloxe worked for me to cure my hair loss and helped my hair get longer!

There are a lot of choices when it comes to organic shampoos, but when you know what to look for and what to avoid, it can help narrow down your choices.

I used to think that just because a bottle of shampoo said it was organic, that it was the best there was. Many of the shampoos will say they have organic ingredients in them, but will also have a lot of chemicals in them in as well.

Someone once told me when it comes to organic shampoos and skin care products, that you should be able to pronounce all the words on the back of the label. If the list of ingredients looks like a lot of words you have never heard of before and have no idea what they are, the product is probably not truly organic.

@myharley-- I understand how you feel and struggled for years with hair loss. When I started using organic shampoos I didn't notice a difference right away either.

It took about 6 months of using an organic shampoo every time I shampooed my hair to notice a difference. I also started washing my hair every other day instead of every day as I had done before.

I buy my organic shampoo at a health food store and while it is not cheap, it has been worth it. Even at a health food store, you have to be careful of what you are getting and read the labels closely.

I don't think it was so much a matter of brand as it was using a purely organic shampoo and giving it time to work. I am sure I will use an organic shampoo for the rest of my life. My hair is not only fuller, but also feels much healthier.

I have always had thin hair, but as I have aged this has become noticeably thinner. Being female, this really bothers me. I have tried just about everything I can think of to increase the amount of hair I have.

Increasing the fullness and volume does help a little bit, but I still would love to have more hair on my head. I have tried organic shampoos, but haven't seemed to notice any difference in how much hair I have.

If someone has had success using an organic shampoo to help with their hair loss, I would love to hear what you used.
