What Are the Benefits of Face Cream with Collagen?

Collagen facial creams have many benefits for tired or aging skin. When a face cream includes collagen as an active ingredient in can reduce the appearance of wrinkles, reduce the appearance of sunspots, and alleviate dry skin. The cream can also act as a basic moisturizer for those with normal skin types.

A face cream with collagen can help dry and damaged skin. By moisturizing the skin, the collagen helps to alleviate dryness and makes the skin softer to the touch. Dry or unbalanced skin can appear blotchy. The collagen helps to remove dry patches on the surface of the skin and to reduce redness, giving the skin a healthier glow.

Many manufacturers offer a face cream with collagen to fight the signs of aging, such as fine lines, wrinkles, or the crow’s feet that extend from the corners of the eyes. Facial skin loses its elasticity through the natural process of aging or through mistreatment of the skin, such as extended sun exposure. Once absorbed into the skin, collagen helps rebuild the lost elasticity, which can make the face appear more youthful. The collagen also works to plump up the surface of the skin, making fine lines and minor wrinkles appear less noticeable.

A face cream with collagen can exfoliate the skin as well, especially if the collagen is blended with exfoliatants such as apricot shells or refined seeds. The cream is massaged onto the face for several minutes and then removed with cool water. The exfoliator removes the outermost layer of skin, revealing the new skin underneath. As a result, the skin feels softer to the touch and may appear more even in complexion.

Age spots and damage from the sun can create dark discolorations on the skin, causing the face to have an uneven appearance. A face cream with collagen can help lighten these spots on the skin. After applying the face cream twice a day for several weeks, the collagen may exfoliate and moisturize the discolorations so that they are no longer as noticeable as they once were.

Some consumers may have an allergic reaction to a face cream with collagen. To reduce the risk of a reaction, a consumer should do a patch test before applying any product directly to the face. The test is performed on another sensitive area of the skin, such as the inside of the arm, to see if any reaction occurs.

I have a skin care set that I'm using now that has collagen in all of the products. There is the exfoliation cream I use first, and then the collagen toner and collagen cream to moisturize. I just love this set!

I read that exfoliation helps promote collagen production and brings up new skin that is firmer and more clear. I've used other exfoliation products before, but the collagen creams seems to bring up new skin much faster. After three days of using the set, I noticed that my skin is firmer and it looks lighter.

I used to think that collagen can only be used for anti-aging, but it's really great for exfoliation and getting rid of blemishes too!

I've been using collagen face creams for years and the only benefit I've seen from them is its moisturizing properties. My wrinkles have not decreased and new ones have not been prevented at all. The collagen cream I used most recently actually caused an allergic reaction and I got blotchy red skin from it.

I don't know if the more expensive collagen creams work better. But I can only buy the more affordable ones which like I said, haven't worked for me in terms of anti-wrinkle and anti-aging affects. Maybe it's just a quality issue because women on TV and online are always raving about collagen creams and how great they are.

I'm probably going to continue to use collagen creams because they do hydrate my skin well and I still have hope that one of them will help my wrinkles eventually.

I read in a health and beauty magazine that women produce less and less collagen over the age of fifty. So women over fifty start to drastically get wrinkles, lines and pigmentation on their skin. That's why it's important to use a face cream with collagen after fifty.

My mom has been really good about this and always uses collagen creams daily. She looks much younger than her real age and people are always complimenting her on how hydrated, smooth, and young her skin looks.

She eats really healthy and exercises regularly which I'm sure helps. But I really think that the collagen creams have been working for her. I'm definitely going to use collagen face cream when I'm older. I want to stay young!
